JDU leader Raj Kumar Singh, holding the rank of a Cabinet Minister, shared his insights on the upcoming Bihar assembly elections during a TV9 Digital meeting in Begusarai. He emphasized the solidarity within the NDA, stating that there was no internal confusion among its members. Singh, a former LJP MLA from Matihani, later became a member of JDU.
Regarding his relationship with Chirag Paswan, Singh described their interactions as positive. He underlined the strong collaboration among the NDA’s five parties, expressing confidence in their collective success.
Singh also mentioned that there was no disagreement with Chirag Paswan. He added that every party seeks to elevate its leaders. Singh views Chirag Paswan as a progressive young leader, and believes that working with Nitish Kumar would increase his experience.
Speaking about the Matihani constituency, Singh anticipated a strong victory, backed by the combined support of Chirag Paswan, JDU, and BJP, which represents over 60% of the electorate.
Addressing his decision to join JDU, Singh said that he believed that the development of Matihani would be best achieved under Nitish Kumar’s leadership. He explained that he was focused on supporting development and expressed satisfaction with the current unity within the NDA, including Chirag Paswan’s presence.
He clarified that he works with the district administration for public welfare, which requires cooperation from public representatives.
Singh mentioned the disciplined approach his party maintained during elections, and he never faced accusations of violating the election code of conduct.
He affirmed the NDA’s unified front, with each of its five partners analyzing every seat. Their goal is to secure 225 seats to re-establish Nitish Kumar’s government and provide stability to Bihar.
Commenting on Prashant Kishor, Singh suggested that Kishor’s focus was not on his party’s success, but on weakening Nitish Kumar. Singh indicated that the NDA is ahead in the upcoming election.
Regarding the question of not becoming a minister, Singh said that he had no regrets. He is satisfied with his work for the people of Matihani.
