Bihar’s Department of Revenue and Land Reforms is launching a Revenue Mega-Campaign across the state, scheduled to run from August 16th to September 20th. The campaign was the subject of a preparatory meeting held on Sunday at the Revenue Survey Training Institute in Shastrinagar. The meeting brought together representatives from the three-tier panchayat system, alongside officials and staff associations.

Additional Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar Singh, presiding over the meeting, discussed the widespread issue of inaccuracies within land records, an issue affecting a large segment of the state’s population. Despite the availability of online services, difficulties remain in procedures like land ownership transfers and record corrections.

The campaign will focus on resolving these issues through various means, including accepting applications for online land record corrections, handling inheritance transfers, facilitating partition transfers, and registering missing land records online. Teams will visit homes to deliver copies of land records and application forms. Exceptional performers will be recognized with district and state-level awards.

The three-tier panchayat representatives will be crucial in ensuring the campaign’s success. They will be responsible for creating awareness about the campaign and delivering land record copies and application forms. Officials and staff will also be involved in distributing land record copies and application forms at the mouza level.

ACS Singh stressed the importance of effective implementation, and to that end, the department has partnered with the Rural Development Department, Panchayati Raj Department, Scheduled Castes and Tribes Department, and the Information and Public Relations Department. Their staff will support the campaign by forming teams and aiding in the organization of camps.

IT Manager Anand Shankar provided a detailed explanation of the Revenue Mega-Campaign, emphasizing its three phases: preparation, organization, and execution. The circle-wise micro-plan is set to be released by August 12th and will be available on the department’s website. The application process at the camps will involve immediate registration with unique identifiers to track application status. Director J. Priyadarshini delivered the welcome address.

Representatives from various organizations, including the Mukhiya Sangh, Panchayat Secretary Sangh, Ward Member Sangh, Gram Kachahri Nyamitra Sangh, Bihar Revenue Amin Sangh, United Revenue Service Sangh, Panch Sarpanch Sangh, Bihar Administrative Service Sangh, and Bihar State Land Reforms Employee Sangh, shared their suggestions at the meeting. ACS listened to the suggestions and pledged to implement the necessary recommendations.

Also present were Department Secretary Gopal Meena, Director of Consolidation Rakesh Kumar, Special Secretary Arun Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary Anil Kumar Pandey, Ajeev Vatsraj, Additional Secretary Mahendra Pal, and Deputy Director Mona Jha.
