The Bihar government has increased security measures along its border with Nepal following recent events in Nepal. These events included a ‘Gen Z’ movement and reported jailbreaks. A high-level meeting was held on September 10, 2025, to discuss the situation. The meeting was led by Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, with the participation of police and district officials from the border regions via video conferencing.

The primary goal of the meeting was to ensure that the government was prepared to address potential challenges that could arise from the situation in Nepal. Key instructions were issued by the Chief Secretary to the District Magistrates and Police Superintendents. The main directive involved closely monitoring all individuals entering Bihar from Nepal. No entry was to be permitted without careful examination.

The Chief Secretary also called for enhanced vigilance at important infrastructure and institutions within the state, including bridges, railway stations, and power plants, to prevent any adverse incidents. Officials were informed that they could directly contact the Chief Secretary or the Director General of Police (DGP) for assistance in case of emergencies. This would enable quick responses.

The Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar, Additional Director General (ADG) Kundan Krishnan, along with senior officials from the Home Department, all divisional commissioners, and district officials also participated in this important meeting via video conferencing.
