Bihar’s political scene is currently marked by strong exchanges between opposing factions. The RJD has made direct allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. RJD MP Sanjay Yadav claimed that an affidavit filed by the people of Bihar states that Modi’s election was the result of vote theft. The ‘lantern rule’ and its impact on Bihar were also criticized by Minister of State for Water Resources Dr. Santosh Suman. Here is a summary of the key political developments in Bihar.

The RJD’s criticism focuses on accusations of electoral malfeasance. Sanjay Yadav alleged that Bihar’s citizens, through an affidavit, have accused Narendra Modi of winning through vote manipulation. He also mentioned that ‘Operation Sindoor’ has revealed Modi’s weaknesses. Yadav cited the Prime Minister’s own remarks about infiltrators in Bihar, arguing that the presence of infiltrators after many years in office is a sign of the government’s failures.

Dr. Santosh Suman, the national president of HAM and Minister of State for Water Resources, stated that Bihar faced hardship during the ‘lantern rule,’ a period of darkness. He highlighted the current government’s efforts to bring progress to Bihar, including Modi’s commitment to development projects worth Rs 13,000 crore, aiming to achieve ‘Developed Bihar-Developed India.’

The ‘Youth of Bihar @2047 Student Conclave’ will take place on August 26th at Gyan Bhawan in Patna, with Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan as the keynote speaker. BJP youth wing president Bharatendu Mishra announced that the event will begin at 11:00 AM and will feature students sharing their ideas about the future of India.

At the NDA worker’s conference in Valmiki Nagar, JDU state president Umesh Singh Kushwaha addressed a large gathering, emphasizing the significance of the site where Mahatma Gandhi initiated the Satyagraha movement. He said that the NDA’s district-level worker conferences started from the same location, and they were very successful all over the state. The current assembly-level worker conference is expected to play an important role in helping Nitish Kumar achieve his goal of winning 225 seats in 2025.

CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya accused Prime Minister Modi of spreading false information about Bangladeshi infiltration as a diversionary tactic. He stated that no Bangladeshi infiltrators have been arrested under the SIR program in Bihar. He also claimed that the government is attempting to remove voters from the list, including migrant workers, women, and minorities, using the SIR initiative.

The Indian Inquilab Party has been renamed the Indian Inclusive Party following a directive from the Election Commission. According to party leader IP Gupta, the change was made because other political parties in Bihar had the word ‘Inquilab’ in their names. The party will contest the upcoming Bihar assembly elections under its new name.
