As the Bihar Assembly elections draw near, political parties are accelerating their preparations. The NDA and the India alliance are expected to be the primary contenders. The shifting of leaders between these alliances has commenced. Notably, leaders from the BJP and other parties joined the RJD on Tuesday. Former minister Chhedi Ram and a former CRPF officer were among those who joined the Congress. Here’s a recap of the key political developments in Bihar.

Tej Pratap Yadav’s party saw the addition of various individuals who joined at a meeting held at Tej Pratap Yadav’s official residence in the capital.

Another party has entered the Bihar assembly elections. The Prautishta Bloc, India (PBI) announced its first candidate at a press conference in the capital on Tuesday, nominating Professor Mahendra Pratap Singh for the Kumhrar constituency. The party is conducting a phased process for candidate selection focused on ethical and social development and harmony for all Bihar Legislative Assembly seats.

A gathering took place at the Karpoori Auditorium of the RJD state office on Tuesday. BJP leaders and numerous supporters from different parties joined the RJD. The event was chaired by RJD state president Mangni Lal Mandal and managed by state general secretary Ranvijay Sahu.

Chhedi Ram, a former minister, joined the Congress. At a program at the Pradesh Congress headquarters, Sadaqat Ashram, Chhedi Ram, alongside his supporters and public representatives, became a member of the Congress. His son, Rakesh Kumar Ram, also joined. Chhedi Ram emphasized that the Congress is the party for Dalits and the underprivileged. Pradesh Congress President Rajesh Ram highlighted that all segments of society have seen all political parties and recognize that the Congress gives appropriate representation to all groups. He noted that Chhedi Ram’s experience would benefit the Congress party.

The Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party has claimed that a major split is expected in Union Minister Chirag Paswan’s party. During a press conference, National Spokesperson Shravan Kumar Agarwal criticized Chirag Paswan and his party.

Agarwal predicted a major split in Chirag Paswan’s party, citing ongoing resignations across multiple districts. He mentioned a mass exodus from Chirag’s party, with dedicated workers joining the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party. Many of Chirag’s party leaders also intend to join. On Sunday, 129 members from Chirag’s party resigned en masse, making serious allegations against Chirag’s party’s MPs.

Agarwal also claimed Chirag Paswan is making baseless accusations instead of uniting his party. He referenced prior splits caused by Chirag’s dictatorial behavior.

The CPI(ML), a component of the Mahagathbandhan, states that withholding information from the public and political parties harms the democratic process. The CPI(ML) Central Committee met in Patna on Tuesday, with members from various states attending. The meeting discussed the SIR process in Bihar. The party expressed concern over the Election Commission’s disregard for their complaints.

On Tuesday, at the Pradesh Congress headquarters, Sadaqat Ashram, a former CRPF officer and social activists joined the Congress. The Pradesh Congress President welcomed these individuals, highlighting the Congress’s role in unity, social justice, and inclusive development, and stating that their experience would benefit the party.
