Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition, has raised questions to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar about his experience in dealing with the opposition. This came after Kumar announced a domicile policy for government jobs. Yadav wanted to know how the CM felt about imitating the opposition’s announcements.

Yadav expressed his delight that the NDA government, which he described as ideologically bankrupt, had previously rejected the demand for a domicile policy in Bihar but was now adopting it. He pointed out that the government, which had strongly opposed the policy in the Assembly, was now replicating it, much like other initiatives.

He went on to say that the 20-year-old NDA government lacked its own policies, vision, and foresight. Yadav found it interesting that the government, which had been uncertain for two decades, was now reacting to the opposition’s demands. He mentioned the government’s recent decisions regarding social security pensions, free electricity, government jobs, and increased honorariums for various workers.

The opposition has claimed that the series of announcements by CM Nitish Kumar in recent days are due to their pressure.

Simultaneously, a complaint has been filed against Tejashwi Yadav, requesting an investigation into the issuance of two voter ID cards. The Election Commission has asked Yadav to submit the voter ID card he claims to possess for examination, which was not officially issued.

The Election Commission stated that the opposition leader’s voter ID (EPIC) number had not been altered, contrary to his claims. A local individual filed a complaint at the Digha police station, and the complaint has been forwarded to the district election office.

The Congress party has criticized the Election Commission, alleging that it is working at the direction of the central government to disenfranchise the poor and marginalized through the voter list revision in Bihar. They also allege that the Election Commission is not following the Supreme Court’s recommendations on accepting Aadhaar cards for voter registration.

Congress accused the Election Commission of a conspiracy to benefit the ruling parties in Bihar, and vowed to prevent this. They believe the public will not forgive the NDA government for undermining their constitutional rights. They accused the Bihar NDA government and the Election Commission of weakening the people’s constitutional rights.

Congress leaders stated that the central government, under Narendra Modi, appears to distrust the judiciary and the Chief Justice of India, which is evident in the government’s removal of the CJI from the panel that selects the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners.
