In a brazen act of violence, Shivshankar Singh, the block general secretary of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) party, was murdered in Vaishali, Bihar. The shooting took place in the Pakauri area of Bidupur. The incident led to an immediate and intense response from RJD workers and the local community, who protested by blocking the road near Hajipur Bidupur Pakouli with bamboo barricades and setting fires. Protesters also staged a road-side sit-in, directing their anger towards the government and local authorities. Family members revealed that Singh was on his way to his new home in Pakouli from his former residence in Bhaoropur when he was attacked. The unknown assailants opened fire, resulting in Singh’s death. The attackers fled the scene after the shooting. Singh was previously employed by the electricity department and also had involvement in land dealings. The police have taken control of the body and initiated a post-mortem examination, along with a comprehensive investigation into the murder.
