Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s vision for an empowered Bihar took a significant leap forward with the initiation of Rs 2 lakh additional grants under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana. Shared via a personal post on X, the update signals active progress in making women self-sufficient entrepreneurs.

The scheme’s foundation rests on providing economic aid for self-employment, targeting one woman per household. Phase one delivered Rs 10,000 to 1.56 crore women through seamless DBT, covering both countryside and cities. Pending cases are being fast-tracked.

Now, post a six-month review, eligible beneficiaries who’ve productively invested their initial funds will access up to Rs 2 lakh. This could come in stages or as a single payout for high-performing ventures, tailored to real needs.

To ensure sustainability, directives mandate marketing infrastructure for their goods. Linkages with state-run outlets like Sudha centers, clothing workshops, and Didi Ki Rasoi will open steady revenue streams. This integration promises job security without leaving home.

The Chief Minister is optimistic: Women’s strengthened positions will enhance family prosperity and local employment landscapes. As funds flow, Bihar eyes a future where female-led businesses thrive, reducing dependency on external jobs and fostering self-reliant communities.
