As Bihar gears up for its assembly elections, the Systematic Inspection of Electoral Rolls (SIR) has become a point of contention. The opposition has raised multiple concerns, with the Congress alleging vote manipulation. The Election Commission has addressed these concerns, revealing that no formal objections have been received from any opposition party. The Election Commission continues to emphasize its dedication to creating a precise final voter list for Bihar, ensuring that eligible voters are included and ineligible voters are excluded. The draft voter list, released on August 1, allowed for claims and objections to correct inaccuracies. However, no political party has submitted any claims or objections, even after nine days. The revision of the voter list (SIR) in Bihar has led to significant disruptions within Parliament, with opposition protests affecting the monsoon session. The opposition alleges that the Election Commission is working with the BJP to manipulate votes through SIR, including removing names. The Election Commission released a draft voter list on August 1, urging political parties and citizens to address any omissions. Despite the EC’s appeal, no political party has filed formal objections. Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has pledged to prevent voter fraud in Bihar, but neither he nor his party has filed any appeals or objections regarding the draft list.
