Protests by RJD over a NEET aspirant’s death in Patna have provoked a strong backlash from BJP stalwarts, escalating tensions in Bihar’s political arena. Sanjay Sarawgi, BJP’s state president, minced no words: RJD holds no legitimacy to address women’s security.

He recounted how RJD’s past administration dismissed myriad assaults on women, a stark contrast to today’s proactive measures. The government promptly set up a high-level SIT to probe the matter impartially and swiftly.

Dilip Jaiswal, a cabinet minister, jabbed at RJD’s motives, implying their demonstrations fill a void of meaningful agenda. Shravan Kumar deemed the tragedy deplorable, stressing that while protests may carry political overtones, the state’s message is unequivocal—culprits will be dealt with harshly.

Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash intensified the attack, exposing RJD’s record under Lalu Yadav as the nadir for women’s safety in Bihar. ‘The electorate is well aware of their failings; they can’t preach now,’ he declared.

Caught between opposition outcry and governmental pledges, this incident highlights enduring divides on justice and accountability in Bihar.
