A major political row has erupted after a BJP spokesperson, Printu Mahadev, allegedly threatened Rahul Gandhi during a televised debate in Kerala. The Congress party has strongly condemned the remarks and has urged Home Minister Amit Shah to take immediate action. The Congress believes that Mahadev’s statements, which included a direct threat of violence, are unacceptable.

Printu Mahadev, formerly associated with the ABVP and now a BJP spokesperson, made the controversial comments during a discussion on a Malayalam TV channel. The remarks were made during a debate about the Ladakh violence, where he reportedly stated that Rahul Gandhi should be shot.

The Congress Working Committee (CWC) has backed the call for legal action against Mahadev. Ramesh Chennithala, a member of the CWC, has criticized the Kerala police for not yet filing a case, suggesting a possible political connection. K.C. Venugopal, a key figure in the Congress, highlighted that such statements compromise the safety of the Leader of the Opposition and undermine the principles of law and order. He also pointed out that the CRPF, responsible for Rahul Gandhi’s protection, has previously expressed security concerns.
