Bokaro Steel Plant Focuses on Gas Safety Education for Employees

To further solidify safety standards and cultivate a deep-rooted ‘Safety First’ culture, Bokaro Steel Plant actively organizes various awareness programs. One such initiative, a dedicated gas safety awareness program, took place on December 12, 2025, within the premises of the HR Knowledge & Development Department’s Main Auditorium. This important session, facilitated by the Safety Engineering and Energy Management departments, garnered participation from 89 individuals, comprising officers, employees, and contract workers across different plant units. The program’s objective was to enhance knowledge and promote best practices in gas safety. Sukdev Mahto, Assistant General Manager of the Safety Department, commenced the event with a welcome and an explanation of the program’s relevance. Subsequently, Vineet Tirkey, Assistant General Manager of the Energy Management Department, delivered an informative presentation that elaborated on the critical aspects of safe gas handling and usage within the demanding environment of a steel plant. Participants were encouraged to leverage this educational opportunity fully.
