    Achyut Potdar, a respected actor known for his contributions to Hindi and Marathi films, has passed away, leaving the film industry in mourning. He was 91 years old. Potdar died on August 18, 2025, at Jupiter Hospital in Thane, Mumbai. The cause of death remains unconfirmed. The news has deeply saddened the film industry. Reports indicate that Potdar had been dealing with health problems, which led to his hospitalization. His final farewell will be held in Thane on August 19, 2025. Before his acting career, Achyut Potdar worked in the Indian Army and the Indian Oil Company. He began his acting career in the 1980s, winning the hearts of audiences with his acting skills. During his career, Achyut Potdar played many memorable characters. His filmography includes ‘Aakrosh,’ ‘Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai,’ ‘Ardh Satya,’ ‘Tezaab,’ ‘Parinda,’ ‘Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman,’ ‘Dilwale,’ ‘Yeh Dillagi,’ ‘Rangeela,’ ‘Mrityudand,’ ‘Yashwant,’ ‘Ishq,’ ‘Vaastav,’ ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen,’ ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain,’ ‘Parineeta,’ ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai,’ ‘Dabangg 2,’ and ‘Ventilator.’ He is best known for his role as an engineering professor in Aamir Khan’s film, ‘3 Idiots’. His iconic line from the film, ‘Are akhir kehna kya chahte ho?’ (What do you want to say, after all?) is still widely used. Besides films, Achyut Potdar appeared in popular television shows such as ‘Wagle Ki Duniya,’ ‘Maza Hoshil Na,’ ‘Mrs. Tendulkar,’ and ‘Bharat Ek Khoj’.
