Bolsonaro’s Health Declines: Former President Hospitalized During House Arrest

Jair Bolsonaro, the former president of Brazil, was hospitalized due to a sudden health crisis, as reported by his son, Flavio. The incident took place while Bolsonaro was under house arrest. Bolsonaro experienced several symptoms including hiccups, vomiting, and low blood pressure. The medical team attending to him determined that these issues were related to inadequate nutrition over the past month. The house arrest followed a 27-year sentence related to claims that Bolsonaro attempted a coup after his loss to Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the 2022 elections. Legal representatives for Bolsonaro have stated they intend to contest the ruling. Flavio Bolsonaro used social media to give information regarding his father’s health, calling the situation an emergency. Doctors mentioned that Bolsonaro’s weak state and mild anemia were results of a poor diet. Furthermore, a biopsy was performed, and eight skin samples were taken. Bolsonaro faced numerous accusations during the trial, with one of the most serious alleging a plot to assassinate Lula, Vice President Geraldo Alckmin, and Alexandre de Moraes.
