A common problem for smartphone users is the short battery life. Smartphones frequently need daily charging. In contrast, older phones lasted much longer. Fortunately, several settings can be adjusted to improve battery performance.

Start by turning off the Always-On Display, a feature that consumes power by constantly displaying information on the screen. Disable this setting in the display or lock screen options within your phone’s settings.

Next, enable Dark Mode, which reduces the screen’s brightness and conserves battery. This option is available in the display settings under the theme options.

Adjust the screen brightness to a medium or auto setting. Also, set a short sleep time to minimize screen-on time.

Android phones have an Adaptive Battery feature that optimizes performance to conserve power. You can find it in the battery settings. Enable Adaptive Battery in the adaptive preference section.

Finally, consider using the Battery Saver Mode to limit background apps and balance phone performance. This is sometimes labelled ‘Extreme Battery Saver’.
