A high-level meeting, led by Deputy Commissioner Abhijit Sinha, meticulously reviewed development plans designed to enhance the overall infrastructure and pilgrim experience at Basukinath Temple. A paramount concern addressed was the immaculate upkeep of Shivganga, which received top priority, with a strict deadline set for a comprehensive action plan and project report within one week. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that Shivganga is a sacred bathing spot for countless devotees and requires consistent, effective cleaning. Beyond Shivganga, discussions also covered improving general cleanliness in the temple vicinity and implementing regular fogging by the Nagar Panchayat. Proposals for attractive colored lighting along the path leading to the temple from Nandi Chowk were debated, alongside directives to expand the ‘Jalapan’ counters and designate appropriate locations for temporary sanitation facilities to ensure pilgrim comfort. The administration underscored that fostering a conducive and convenient pilgrimage environment is a primary objective, requiring coordinated efforts from all government departments. Representatives from key departments, the Panda Dharmarakshini Sabha, and the Nagar Panchayat were in attendance.
