The recent wave of protests in Nepal, initially focused on corruption and government policies, has resulted in significant security challenges, including mass jailbreaks. Protesters targeted police stations and other government buildings. In the ensuing chaos, over 15,000 prisoners escaped from more than 24 jails. While some have been recaptured, the Nepal Police is still searching for approximately 12,500 escapees. Security agencies are working diligently, especially along the India-Nepal border, to prevent any further unrest.
