India has responded to Nepal’s claims over the Lipulekh Pass by rejecting them and calling for discussions to address the ongoing border issues. The Indian government stated its readiness to engage with Nepal constructively to resolve the boundary disputes through diplomacy. The MEA pointed out the historical continuity of border trade between India and China through Lipulekh, which was temporarily halted. India’s official stance is that the claims are unwarranted and lack historical support. Nepal has objected to the trade route agreement between India and China. Nepal asserts that the region, including Lipulekh, is part of Nepal’s territory.
