Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district has achieved a significant victory with the surrender of 50 Naxal cadres, notably including 32 women. This major development occurred at the Kamtera camp of the Border Security Force, where the insurgents also relinquished 39 weapons. The surrendered group featured senior Naxal leaders, with five DVCM-rank individuals and 21 ACM-level members among them. This mass defection represents a substantial weakening of the Naxal presence in the Maad region. Security forces anticipate a continued trend, with an estimated 120 more cadres expected to surrender in Bijapur by Thursday. Enhanced community engagement initiatives are being implemented to support the reintegration of these individuals.
