The highly anticipated launch of BSNL’s indigenous 4G network is set for September 27th, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia took to X to announce the upcoming launch of the network, which is fully made in India, cloud-based, and designed for future upgrades, including a smooth transition to 5G. The rollout will see the deployment of the BSNL 4G stack across 98,000 sites. The launch event will be hosted in Jharsuguda, Odisha. This marks India’s entry into the league of nations like Sweden, Denmark, China, and South Korea that manufacture telecom equipment. Additionally, the launch includes a plan to connect approximately 29,000 to 30,000 villages, promoting digital inclusion in remote areas. Tejas Networks contributed to the Radio Access Network and the entire system was integrated by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS).
