BSNL Unveils VoWiFi, Letting Users Call via Wi-Fi

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has introduced a VoWiFi service that allows its customers to make calls over a Wi-Fi network, negating the need for a mobile network connection. This new feature is available in select regions, bringing BSNL on par with its competitors, including Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone-Idea, which already offer Wi-Fi calling. The VoWiFi service is designed to facilitate communication in areas with weak cellular signals, improving the user experience in challenging network environments. Users will require a smartphone compatible with VoWiFi, which can typically be enabled in the phone’s settings. BSNL’s VoWiFi service is free of charge, as announced by the company, providing enhanced connectivity without additional expenses for its users. This development is a step towards modernizing BSNL’s services and maintaining its competitiveness in the telecom industry.
