According to municipal officials, the budget of the construction fund is over in the month of February, due to which the development works being run by the corporation have now been banned. In this financial year, most of the works have been completed according to the way the budget was allocated for construction works, but now neither new construction works can start nor any other new proposal will be done. This situation has emerged as a major challenge before the Municipal Corporation.
Until the beginning of the new financial year, that is, before 1 April 2025, no new construction work will be started. This can cause a major disappointment for the citizens, as civil development works were completely lacking. At this time, only those tasks will be completed, for which funds have already been allocated.
120 crore budget was approved
The Municipal Corporation had approved the construction work of Rs 120 crore for the financial year from 31 March 2024 to 31 March 2025. With this budget, funds were allocated for the construction of the city’s road construction, model road, interlocking, drains, drains and culverts. Most of these works have been completed, while some works are still incomplete. These works will be completed as soon as possible, but new works will no longer be started till the new financial year.
According to Chief Engineer BL Gupta, the corporation has tried to complete most of the construction works on time in this financial year. He said that most of the works done by the corporation have been almost complete, and now due to the end of the budget, no new work can be started.
Fury after the budget of councilors is over
On the other hand, councilors of various political parties of the Municipal Corporation have also expressed their concern about this situation. Many councilors are circling to pass their work files with the municipal officials, but their works have also come to a standstill due to lack of budget. In such a situation, it is being expected that no action will be taken on them.
The BJP councilor party says that now the time has come for councilors to work better for the development of the city with the officials of the municipal corporation. Mass efforts should be made to improve the city’s ranking, not unnecessary resistance.
Information about work of 70 to 80 crores
Former Municipal Corporation Deputy Chairman and BJP leader Ravi Bihari Mathur said that for the last few years, the corporation has been doing work worth Rs 70-80 crore from the construction fund, but this time a record of Rs 120 crore has been done. He also said that this budget is a big achievement for the corporation, but now the new works will have to be waiting for new works till 31 March.
He appreciated the municipal officials, saying that they are always ready for development works in the city, and the work done in this budget could prove to be very beneficial for the citizens.
Impact on city ranking
The purpose of various construction works done by the Municipal Corporation was to strengthen the city’s infrastructure and improve the city’s ranking. Now when the speed of construction works slows down, it can affect the city’s ranking. Councilors believe that if no new work is started now, the city’s ranking can fall, due to which the citizens will face disappointment.

Municipal officials are now busy planning for the new financial year. According to him, as soon as the new budget is allocated, the Municipal Corporation will prepare a list of its primary works. This time the budget may prefer some new works, which may include new drains and drains construction, and additional plans for road construction to improve the city’s major routes, improve drainage system.
