In a standout year for Apple, iPhone shipments in India surged 24% in 2025 over 2024, signaling a premium shift in the world’s second-largest smartphone market. This growth highlights Apple’s knack for tapping into aspirational buying trends.
Market tracker CyberMedia Research (CMR) reported iPhones outpacing iPads handily—24% growth versus a slim 2%. CMR VP Prabhakar Ram emphasized the ‘strong demand’ for Apple gear, crediting new iPad launches for keeping tablet sales steady and reinforcing the brand’s premium productivity lineup.
iPhone 16 series stole the show at 57% of total shipments, followed by iPhone 15 (24%), iPhone 17 (10%), and iPhone 16e (6%).
Q4 brought nuance: iPhone volumes eased 3% from last year, while iPads skyrocketed 95%. The iPhone 16 series retained 50% Q4 share, with iPhone 17 at 24%, iPhone 15 at 17%, and iPhone 16e at 8%.
On the tablet front, iPad 11 series led with 68% yearly dominance, climbing to 76% in Q4. iPad Air 2025 claimed 21% annually and 9% quarterly, iPad Pro 2025 hit 13% in Q4.
These figures underscore Apple’s resilience amid fierce rivalry from Android giants. With local production scaling and festive season boosts, Apple is not just growing—it’s redefining luxury tech in India, poised for exponential gains as disposable incomes rise.
