Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy and MoS Satish Chandra Dubey will launch the seventh critical minerals auction round on Monday, advancing India’s resource sovereignty. The Mines Ministry’s announcement spotlights a vital economic pillar.

Essential for growth, these minerals face heightened demand from green shifts and tech advances—lithium, graphite, REEs, tungsten, vanadium, titanium chief among them. Global bottlenecks demand urgent action.

The 2023 MMDR tweak lists 24 critical types, centralizing auctions while benefiting states fiscally. Six rounds auctioned 46 blocks, proving market trust.

Nineteen new blocks span states, offering minerals for clean tech, innovation, farming, and strategy. Upgrades include efficient post-bid rules (2025) and bond alternatives (2026), cutting red tape.

Online two-phase auctions reward highest value shares. This round accelerates self-sufficiency, spurs industry, and aligns India with global leaders, ensuring resilient futures.
