Gold Silver Prices Crash 800-2400 Rs Despite Mideast Geopolitical Storm

Wednesday's trading in Mumbai brought an unexpected bearish turn for precious metals, even as Middle East tensions simmered. India Bullion and Jewellers Association figures show 999 gold settling at Rs 1,54,879 per 10 grams, a Rs 789 decline from Tuesday's Rs 1,55,668. Silver prices eroded faster, closing at Rs 2,49,907 per kg after a Rs 2,433 drop from Rs 2,52,340.

From last Friday, the rout deepens: gold minus Rs 4,000/10g, silver down Rs 10,000/kg. MCX futures echoed the pain—April gold fell 2.17% or Rs 3,385 to Rs 1,52,600/10g by evening. May silver declined 2.34% or Rs 5,913 to Rs 2,47,200/kg.

Intraday action was volatile: gold opened Rs 1,55,658, touched Rs 1,56,075 high and Rs 1,51,550 low. Silver opened Rs 2,51,498, peaked at Rs 2,54,897, and hit Rs 2,42,803.

Technical eyes are on gold's Rs 1,56,000-1,57,000 support. Analysts say sustained levels above this preserve bullish bias; surpassing Rs 1,65,000 could spark a rally to Rs 1,75,000-1,80,000.

Pivotal influences include West Asian unrest, dollar rallies, oil volatility, and US-Iran headlines. Hormuz Strait threats enhance petro-dollar flows, inversely correlating gold with oil and USD movements.

For jewelers and investors, this dip contrasts recent highs, potentially signaling a pause before renewed geopolitical-driven rebounds. Broader markets await clarity on global risk appetites.
