Bullion counters across India reported lower prices on Tuesday as both gold and silver succumbed to selling pressure. The move lower has opened a window for buyers who have been waiting on the sidelines for better entry points. The India Bullion Jewellers Association pegged 24-carat gold at Rs 1,57,611 per 10 grams after a Rs 1,246 decline. The 22-carat segment settled at Rs 1,44,372 per 10 grams, while 18-carat gold eased to Rs 1,18,208 per 10 grams. These levels represent the lowest closes seen in several sessions. Silver prices also tumbled, falling Rs 4,887 to Rs 2,66,213 per kilogram. The correction in silver was sharper on a percentage basis, reflecting its higher beta to global risk sentiment and industrial demand fluctuations. Futures markets mirrored the spot weakness. On MCX, the June 2026 gold contract lost 0.69 percent to Rs 1,57,989, and the July 2026 silver contract declined 1.96 percent to Rs 2,71,285. Experts note that gold now finds support near Rs 1,57,000, while resistance sits around Rs 1,61,000. With U.S. inflation and GDP data scheduled for release soon, traders expect volatility to remain elevated. The present price action could encourage accumulation by both jewellery manufacturers and retail investors looking to benefit from the dip.
