A landmark achievement for Indian agriculture: the nation has been crowned ‘Country of the Year’ at BioFach 2026, the definitive global platform for organic products. Taking place February 10-13 in Nuremberg, Germany, the fair will feature India’s most ambitious booth to date, as revealed by the Commerce and Industry Ministry.
APEDA, the driving force behind this initiative, is curating a participation that celebrates India’s heritage as an organic giant. With over ten years of strong showings at BioFach—the world’s foremost organic food and agribusiness event—India is now scaling up dramatically.
This escalation captures the momentum in organic exports, rising international demand, and deeper involvement from FPOs, cooperatives, and industry players. The 1,074-square-meter Indian pavilion will buzz with 67 co-exhibitors, displaying an eclectic mix of organics: rice, pulses, oilseeds, cashews, ginger, turmeric, large cardamom, cinnamon, herbs, spices, mango puree, and essential oils.
Representing over 20 states and UTs—from Tamil Nadu’s robust produce to West Bengal’s specialties and Uttarakhand’s high-altitude treasures—this pavilion paints a vivid picture of India’s agricultural mosaic. It spotlights region-specific organics and innovative value-added items, all while projecting India’s stellar trajectory in global organic commerce.
As sustainability takes center stage worldwide, India’s BioFach triumph signals exciting prospects for exporters. Expect fresh deals, expanded networks, and a reaffirmed reputation for quality organic produce that meets rigorous international standards.
