Dr. P. Anbalagan, Principal Secretary of the Industries Department, outlined the state’s strategic advantages during the CII-HBNI Research Scholars Summit, noting its 14 percent contribution to India’s GDP and approximately 25 percent share in industrial output. Urban centers including Mumbai, Pune, and Nagpur are spearheading growth in fintech, deep-tech, manufacturing, and startup incubation, creating a vibrant environment for research-driven entrepreneurship. The state’s innovation ecosystem is not only generating employment but also positioning Maharashtra as a globally competitive player. The CII-HBNI summit facilitated in-depth conversations among government officials, academic leaders, industry representatives, and startup founders on how to deepen academia-industry collaboration. Participants explored strategies for commercializing research outcomes, scaling early-stage ventures, and equipping the workforce with future-relevant skills.
