MCX Gold Silver Boom: Prices Up 2.83% Amid Global Rise

Friday brought welcome tidings for precious metals enthusiasts as MCX gold and silver prices surged impressively, with silver posting the day's standout gain of 2.83 percent. This follows a steep Thursday decline, highlighting the sector's inherent swings.

At 10:10 AM, the April gold future was quoted at Rs 1,47,950, reflecting a 2.07 percent or Rs 2,996 rise. Early action saw it dip to Rs 1,47,401 and climb to Rs 1,48,302.

Silver's May lot advanced Rs 6,540 or 2.83 percent to Rs 2,38,000 per kg, oscillating from Rs 2,37,300 to a ceiling of Rs 2,40,000.

International markets echoed the optimism: Comex gold up 2.40 percent at $4,716/oz and silver 3.61 percent higher at $73.78/oz.

Insights from Motilal Oswal's Manav Modi reveal gold's tentative morning hold amid a trajectory for six-year weekly nadir. Downward forces trace to geopolitical flares between US, Israel, and Iran inflating expectations and sidelining rate cut bets.

A mighty dollar, escalating yields, and oil's four-year surge from regional energy hits have compounded challenges, though they paradoxically boost inflation-hedge narratives for gold and silver.

Thursday saw gold retreat to Rs 1.44 lakh/10g and silver to Rs 2.20 lakh/kg. Today's uplift hints at bottom-fishing, but overarching uncertainties demand vigilant monitoring of Fed moves and conflict updates.
