    The recent week presented a difficult period for England’s Jos Buttler due to the death of his father. Buttler demonstrated remarkable resilience by playing a match for Manchester Originals in The Hundred, despite the fresh grief. Following the match, he shared a message honoring his father.

    Buttler played his first match following his father’s death on August 9th. The match performance reflected the emotional burden, as Buttler was out for zero. The Manchester Originals team paid tribute to Buttler’s father by wearing black armbands during the game.

    Buttler took to Instagram to share his farewell message for his father. He wrote, “Rest in peace, Dad. Thank you for everything.” The first match of The Hundred 2025 was played on August 6th. His father’s death occurred between these two matches. Buttler had scored 22 runs in the first match of The Hundred 2025.
