Calls for Bharat Ratna Intensify After the Death of Jharkhand’s Shibu Soren

The death of Shibu Soren, also known as Dishom Guru, has led to numerous calls for him to be awarded the Bharat Ratna, including demands from Jharkhand ministers. Soren, the founder of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, passed away on August 4th. Irfan Ansari, a minister, has appealed to the President to honor Soren with the Bharat Ratna, calling him a true revolutionary and a voice for the disadvantaged. Pappu Yadav, a Member of Parliament, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Soren’s symbolism of humanity and his championing of the exploited. Soren, who was also a three-time Chief Minister of Jharkhand, was known as the voice of the state’s tribal population. He was recognized for his courageous actions and his fight against exploitative practices. The formation of Jharkhand and the establishment of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha are testaments to his vision and leadership. The late leader’s legacy is one of struggle and empowerment. Babu Lal Marandi, former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition, also offered condolences, recalling Soren as a social reformer who fought for the rights of the people.
