  • Name of governor’s house be changed from Raj Bhavan to ‘Seva Bhavan’: Akhilesh’s dig at govt.

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday took a dig at the government and said the name of Uttar Pradesh governor’s residence should be changed from Raj Bhavan to ‘Seva Bhavan’. Yadav posted on ‘X’ a 10second video of some construction activities going on outside the Raj Bhawan and asked whether the work was being carried out with all approvals.

“It is hoped that the new construction of the Raj Bhavan must have been started only after getting the map of the new construction approved with all the standards,” the SP chief said in the post in Hindi.

“Until the construction is completed, Lucknow Development Authority or any other responsible department should display the map of this changed construction near the place where the construction is going on, for the public to see. So that the public gets inspired that every construction should be Legal,” he added. Taking a jibe, he further said that the government should replace the word ‘Raj’ with the democratic word ‘Seva’, that is, ‘SevaBhawan’.

“When the change is happening, then a suggestion to the ‘name changing’ government is that the monarchical word ‘Raj’ with the colonial mentality of the British should be replaced with the democratic word ‘Seva’, that is, ‘SevaBhawan. ‘instead of Rajbhawan,” Yadav said.

  • Opposition MVA releases ‘traitors record’ against BJPled Maharashtra govt

Mumbai: The Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi on Sunday issued a ‘gaddarancha panchnama’ (traitors record), labeling the ruling Mahayuti in Maharashtra as a government of the rich that ignores the poor. It listed out a ‘rate card’ for purchasing MLAs and corporators, transferring government officials as well as facilitating the shifting of industries from Maharashtra to Gujarat.

The panchnama’s premise is centered on labeling the government as favoring the rich. It lists out a comparison of the prices of cylinders, petrol and diesel, cooking oil and salt, and says that they have gone up since 2014 after the BJPled government came to power in the state. It points out that farm equipment, tractors used by farmers have a 12% GST, school books and ghee have 18% and 12% GST, respectively, while travel by helicopter, airplanes and cruise ships have only 5% GST. It also lists that purchase of diamonds has just a 1.5% GST.

It also highlights the farmers’ suicides and lack of government support for them. It said the government was protecting rich people involved in the hitandrun cases. At a joint press conference, NCPSP chief Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray and state Congress chief Nana Patole released the ‘panchnama’ and called the people. to vote out the Mahayuti government.

“There is no law and order in the state. There are atrocities on women and children. They are not safe. Their own people (Baba Siddique) get shot down. Industries are being taken away from our state to Gujarat, leading to loss of The government is involved in taking kickbacks in every project and there was even corruption in the building of the Shivaji Maharaj statue.

Pawar doubted whether the state would be able to finance projects like the Ladki Bahin scheme where the government was paying ₹1,500 per month to women. Thackeray said BJP was trying to pit communities against each other.

  • Ahead of polls, BJP promises NRC in Jharkhand

NEW DELHI: The BJP on Monday promised to implement NRC (National Register of Citizens) in Jharkhand if the party comes to power. The party has made infiltration from Bangladesh an election issue with their leaders right from PM Modi to Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighting the demographic change which would be a big challenge to tribals.

BJP Jharkhand election incharge and Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday announced that the party would implement NRC if it comes to power in the state.

“This election is to save the state. The demography of the state is changing due to infiltration from Bangladesh,” Chouhan said. “Post the elections, the citizenship register will be prepared, and all illegal immigrants would be thrown out of the state.” Chouhan said the party will soon launch a detailed manifesto called Sankalp Patra for the upcoming state elections. BJP leaders from Jharkhand arrived in Delhi on Monday for a meeting with Amit Shah regarding the candidate selection before the party’s CEC meeting.

  • BJP reviving MADHAV formula targeting OBCs

New Delhi: From reducing duty on the export of onions, mostly produced in Maharashtra, to opening up the Banjara Virasat Museum, the BJP has been taking several measures to correct its caste arithmetic in the pollbound state and is also trying to strengthen its. MADHAV formula a combination of three OBC castes.

In the Marathwada region, where BJP drew a blank in the Lok Sabha polls and in Western Maharashtra where it won only two seats, the BJP is again focussing on its tested and tried MADHAV formula an acronym representing the Mali, Dhangar and Vanjari communities. All the three castes come under the OBC category.

Party leaders feel that the BJP lost its hold among these castes due lack of clarity from the government over Maratha reservation issue resulting in OBCs moving away from the party. To improve its performance in the assembly polls, the party needs to nominate several candidates from these. castes and regain the lost ground, a senior BJP leader said.

There are 46 assembly seats in Marathwada region and 70 in Western Maharashtra, the highest number of seats in any region in Maharashtra.

BJP had won 20 seats in Western Maharashtra and 16 in Marathwada out of 39 and 26 that it contested in these two regions, respectively during last assembly elections. The Mahayuti government in Maharashtra, of which BJP is also part, recently renamed Ahmednagar as Ahilyanagar, after Ahilyadevi Holkar, who is highly revered by the Dhangar community, almost equivalent to a deity. Similarly to consolidate its presence among upper castes, the state government recently decided to set up two corporations for the economic development of the Brahmin and Rajput communities. The Vidarbha region, having 62 assembly seats, second highest in Maharashtra, and RSS is also located in the region at Nagpur, has been the BJP’s stronghold but the party performed poorly in the Lok Sabha polls here.

The party leaders here feel Congress grouping of DMK Dalit, Muslims and Kunbis impacted the BJP electorally.

In the last assembly polls, the Telis another prominent OBC community which moved away from it in Vidarbha impacted it and the BJP could win only 29 seats out of the 50 seats it contested here.

This time the BJP’s main focus would be on regaining Teli vote back as the party’s state unit chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule is from the caste and hails from this region and to break Congress DMK formula, the party is working on making inroads in Kunbi vote bank and Hindu. Dalits. Many Dalits in this region have converted to Buddhism.

Marathas, the dominant caste, accounting for nearly 30% of the population and politically powerful in the state, have been demanding the Kunbi, or OBC caste certificates. And this led to counter consolidation among other OBCs and with lack of clarity from the government that worked against BJP and its allies.

  • MUDA scam: Siddaramaiah fumes at opposition for targeting his wife in MUDA case

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday came down heavily on the opposition BJP and the JD(S) for dragging his wife Parvathi BM in the MUDA case, who had never stepped into public life and stayed within her house. He also accused the opposition of targeting him because they could not tolerate a person from a backward community in the chief minister’s post.

Speaking at the ‘Swabhimani Samavesha’ (selfesteem convention) in Manvi Taluk, which was organized for the ‘AHINDA’ (minorities, backward and Dalit) communities, Siddaramaiah said the five guarantees introduced by the Congress government last year is strengthening the poor. , backward, minorities, women and Dalits by raising their economic and social status, which the opposition BJP and the JD(S) could not tolerate.

“They (opposition) got so frustrated that they dragged my wife, who had never entered politics or stepped out of her house (in public life), on the road. You need to ask (opposition) this question whether this is justified,” the chief minister said. There is mounting pressure from the opposition parties on Siddaramaiah to resign from his post after a special court ordered the Lokayukta police on September 25 to investigate him in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment case.

Accordingly, the Lokayukta police on September 27 registered an FIR against Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathi, brotherinlaw Mallikarjuna Swamy, Devaraju from whom Mallikarjuna Swamy purchased land and gifted it to Parvathi and others.

The order of the Special Court came a day after the High Court upheld the sanction granted by the Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to conduct an investigation against Siddaramaiah. The ED has also registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), equivalent to an FIR by police, against the chief minister over the alleged irregularities in the allotment of 14 sites to his wife by the MUDA. The MUDA on October 1 decided to take back the 14 plots allotted to Siddaramaiah’s wife, following her decision to relinquish their ownership and possession. The MUDA has ordered to cancel the sale deed of these plots, its Commissioner AN Raghunandan had said.

Siddaramaiah asked the audience whether it was wrong to give them five guarantees and also Indira Canteens offering subsidized breakfast and meals, ‘Ksheera Bhagya’ scheme, ‘Ksheera Dhaare’ scheme, ‘Vidya Siri’ scheme and ‘Mathrupoorna’ scheme.

He alleged that the opposition wanted to tarnish his image and trouble him politically, though he did not commit any mistake.

“They want to topple the Siddaramaiah government for just one mistake, that I belong to a backward community. That’s their (opposition party leaders) heartburn. Can you tolerate this?” the chief minister charged.

“My mistake is that I worked towards giving the backward communities the kind of social freedom BR Ambedkar had dreamed of,” he added.

Earlier speaking to reporters, Siddaramaiah said the ‘Swabhimani Samavesha’ was not against anyone but to increase the selfesteem of minorities, backward communities and Dalits (AHINDA communities) in the state.

“I am representing the Congress in the yatra.” The three leaders have interacted with college going girls, students of Kasturba Gandhi School and women selfhelp groups, among others.

  • Third eye: Shinde’s shocking claim, Raj Thackeray’s film aspirations, and Kejriwal’s new address

Kissa Kursi Ka…But No CounterpointCongress leader Sushil Kumar Shinde recently claimed that the late Congressman Vilasrao Deshmukh once tried to dethrone the then CM Sharad Pawar. Shinde, the then Maharashtra Congress chief, claimed that Deshmukh surreptitiously made him sign a document, calling for Pawar’s removal as the CM. With Pawar on the stage, Shinde claimed that Pawar could not believe ’till the end’ how a ‘smart’ person like him could get trapped in such a way. Congress leaders are perplexed at Shinde’s claim and that too when Deshmukh is no more to counter it.Passion, Politics and a Friendly AdviceMNS chief Raj Thackeray’s moviemaking ambitions are not hidden. During a recent event, Raj revealed that he once wanted to quit politics and get into film production, but his film producer friend Sajid Nadiadwala advised him to stay in politics. Raj said that he was once very frustrated in Shiv Sena (when he was in the party and Uddhav Thackeray had begun leading it). The MNS chief said that Sajid told him that being a film producer was a very tough task and that ‘he would not be able to see Raj do what he does’.Kejriwal Set to Shift to a New BungalowAAP chief Arvind Kejriwal will move into bungalow number 5 on Ferozeshah Road in Lutyens’ Delhi on Friday, days after he resigned from the chief minister’s post. The bungalow is close to AAP headquarters and was officially allotted to the party’s Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, Ashok Mittal. Earlier in the day, former deputy CM Manish Sisodia shifted to a bungalow on Rajendra Prasad Road. The house is the official residence of AAP Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh, party leaders said.

  • Haryana assembly polls: CM post claims aimed at motivating leader’s supporters

New Delhi: The results for Haryana assembly polls will be out only next week, but this has not stopped leaders in both the BJP and Congress to start staking claims for the chief ministerial post, which party insiders feel is with the tacit nod of the respective High commands to consolidate the voters in their respective castes and region of influence, before polling.

In the Congress, the party has given more than twothirds of the tickets to candidates recommended by former chief minister Bhupender Hooda. But it is Congress MP from Sirsa, Kumari Selja, and the party’s Rajya Sabha MP, Randeep Surjewala, who have expressed their desire to lead Haryana if Congress comes to power. However, neither Selja nor Surjewala is contesting the assembly polls, while Hooda is contesting.

The story is the same in the BJP as well where the party has already made it clear that it will go for elections under the leadership of sitting chief minister Nayab Saini. But Rao Inderjit Singh, Union Minister, and former state Cabinet Minister Anil Vij have indicated their desire to lead Haryana, if BJP comes to power.Singh enjoys a lot of influence in Ahirwal region. And Vij, who is contesting from Ambala, was dropped from the Haryana cabinet when the party replaced ML Khattar with Saini.Party insiders in both BJP and Congress also feel that these leaders are making with these statements with the knowledge of their respective party high commands. .In Congress, Selja is the Dalit face while Surjewala enjoys influence in and around Kaithal, a stronghold of the Devi Lal clan. So, the party insiders feel these leaders can galvanize their workers.Similarly in BJP, Inderjit is Ahir and Vij is Punjabi two castes which together can sway more than 20 assembly seats. So, through these statements, the BJP is eyeing to further consolidate its hold in these two caste segments.
