Kumar Inder, Jabalpur. Madhya Pradesh High Court has rejected an order of Rani Durgavati University of Jabalpur and directed to start pension of the victim and start all payments within 30 days. In fact, Rani Durga University, playing with the rules, not only stopped the pension of a retired professor but also stopped all his allowances and graduate fund. The university had frozen the funds of the victim professor saying that a case was pending against him in 2003.
The university’s order was flouted in the court. Senior advocate Pankaj Dubey, who is representing the case in the High Court, said that the university has issued this order keeping all the rules and regulations in mind. Pankaj Dubey said that the petitioner YK Bansal had retired in 2019 itself and after his retirement, the university froze his pension and funds saying that a criminal case was pending against him in 2003.

Pankaj Dubey told the court that it is clearly mentioned in the retirement rules that the university management cannot take any such decision after the retirement of any employee. Along with this, advocate Pankaj Dubey also gave many references of the Supreme Court in which no such rules are applicable to retired employees. After which the High Court, while hearing the entire case, not only rejected the university’s order but also directed that such death anniversaries should not be held in future.
