Intensifying its fight against resurgent ISIS elements, the US military conducted extensive strikes on terrorist bases in Syria over the weekend. CENTCOM verified the actions, linking them directly to the deadly December 13 attack in Palmyra that felled two US troops and a Syrian ally.

Saturday’s barrages, integrated into Operation Hawkeye Strike started December 19, saw US and partner forces hit ISIS targets nationwide. This proactive campaign, ordered by President Trump, aims to dismantle attack planning cells and protect forward-deployed units.

‘Across Syria, we struck ISIS to uphold our mission: defeat terror, deter threats, and secure our personnel and allies,’ read the CENTCOM release. The operation transforms retaliation into a persistent strategy, vowing no safe havens for perpetrators.

Echoing this ironclad policy, commanders warned: ‘Harm our soldiers, and we’ll track you down globally and take you out.’ Operational secrecy shrouds strike counts, sites, and armaments, with damage assessments pending.

On X, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth rallied support: ‘We never forget, never quit.’ These moves highlight a strategic pivot, bolstering counterterrorism amid Syria’s volatile landscape and reaffirming US dominance over ISIS holdouts.
