    CGMSC’s New Chairman Mr. Deepak Mhaske Assumed Office, Chief Minister Extended Best Wishes

    Raipur, April 18, 2025 // Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the assumption of office ceremony of the newly appointed Chairman of Chhattisgarh Medical Service Corporation Limited (CGMSC), Mr. Deepak Mhaske, at the auditorium of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Medical College, Raipur, and extended his best wishes from the chair of the chief guest. During this, the Chief Minister, along with the guests, released the CGMSC Supply Chain Management SOP.

    Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai said that the Chhattisgarh Medical Service Corporation Limited (CGMSC) was established in the year 2010 during the tenure of the then Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh. The role of this institution has been extremely important in ensuring quality, transparency, and timely availability of essential medicines and equipment in the state’s health services. Today, this corporation is not just a supply agency, but is playing a major role in strengthening the health system of the state.

    The Chief Minister said that he was pleased to know that Mr. Deepak Mhaske was previously a teacher of Chemistry. This experience will now strengthen the scientific approach in the functions of CGMSC under his leadership, which will directly benefit the people of the state. He said that Chhattisgarh is celebrating its silver jubilee of statehood this year. Since the formation of the state in 2000, health services have continuously improved in the state. Institutions like AIIMS are functioning in the state and 13 medical colleges have also been established, which is a testament to the state government’s commitment to the health sector.

    Chief Minister Mr. Sai said that health is the biggest asset of any citizen and with this objective, the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, launched by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, has provided free treatment facilities to crores of poor families in the country. Lakhs of families in Chhattisgarh are also benefiting under this scheme. He said that currently the Health Minister himself is energetic and active, and now that the responsibility of the corporation has been given to a hard-working and capable person like Mr. Deepak Mhaske, CGMSC will definitely play a major role in providing quality health services to the citizens of the state. At the end of his address, the Chief Minister wished Mr. Mhaske all the best and expressed confidence that his tenure will make the health service system of Chhattisgarh more effective, transparent, and public-friendly.

    Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Dr. Raman Singh, said that this corporation was formed in the year 2010 with the objective of ensuring timely availability of generic medicines, surgical materials, medical equipment, and strengthening the basic health infrastructure. Dr. Singh said that the responsibility of this corporation has been given to worthy, honest, visionary and capable hands like Mr. Mhaske and he will be successful in reaching health facilities to the last person. Assembly Speaker Dr. Singh extended his best wishes to Mr. Mhaske on getting the new responsibility. Health Minister Mr. Shyam Bihari Jaiswal addressed the program and shared information about the work of CGMSC, the schemes, activities, and achievements of the Health Department.

    On this occasion, MLA Mr. Motilal Sahu, MLA Mr. Kiran Dev, MLA Mr. Amar Agarwal, MLA Mr. Sunil Soni, MLA Mr. Rohit Sahu, MLA Mr. Indra Kumar Sao, Mayor Mrs. Meenal Choubey, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. P Dayanand, Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Rahul Bhagat, Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. Basavaraju S, Secretary of the Health Department Mr. Amit Kataria, along with the Chairpersons of the corporations, public representatives, and officers employees were present.
