As India prepares for the final Test match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, former Chennai Super Kings star, Deepak Chahar, has been a key figure in the team’s practice sessions. Chahar, who is not part of the official Test squad, has been bowling in the nets at The Oval, assisting the team in their preparations against England’s strong pace attack. This isn’t Chahar’s first time helping from the sidelines, as he has been supporting the team in similar roles during the series. His capacity to swing the ball in both directions and bowl with precision has aided the Indian batters in simulating match scenarios. The Indian bowling unit has suffered due to injuries with key players like Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh, unavailable and Jasprit Bumrah possibly being rested for the final game. India also has injury problems in the batting department, with Rishabh Pant out and Dhruv Jurel brought in as his replacement. Narayan Jagadeesan has also been included to increase batting depth. Chahar’s experience with the conditions in England makes him an invaluable practice partner, which is critical for the batters as they gear up to take on England’s seam attack. India is hoping to win the game at The Oval to tie the series after exhibiting strong resolve during the Manchester Test. Chahar’s subtle but timely support might be significant for India in achieving a series draw.
