Bihar is experiencing increased political activity ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Political parties are working to establish their strategies and build coalitions. The ruling NDA is conducting NDA workers’ conferences in various districts. However, these conferences have been marked by controversy. In Muzaffarpur, an NDA workers’ conference turned violent. Supporters of Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Prabhat Kiran and former Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) candidate Komal Singh engaged in a physical fight, resulting in chairs being thrown and several injuries.

The incident occurred at the NDA workers’ conference held on Thursday at Jarang High School in the Gaighat block of Muzaffarpur. The meeting was disrupted when supporters of the JDU and LJP clashed. The conflict involved supporters of Janata Dal United (JDU) leader Prabhat Kiran and former Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) candidate Komal Singh. Prabhat Kiran is the son of former JDU MLA Maheshwar Yadav.

The disagreement escalated into a physical altercation. Both groups were involved in a heated exchange. Chairs were thrown, and supporters began throwing chairs at each other, resulting in the breaking of numerous chairs. The violent clash resulted in injuries to at least 12 individuals.

The chaos is reported to have started when a leader made offensive remarks from the stage, which angered the workers present. The agitated workers started throwing chairs, and then broke them, leading to disorder at the conference site.

Following the incident, the workers at the conference started shouting slogans like “Remove outsiders, save Gaighat,” creating a tense environment. The angry workers then began breaking chairs. The use of chairs as weapons caused people to flee the school grounds.

The police attempted to restore order. Leaders on the stage also tried to calm the workers, but the slogans continued, and the conference was disrupted.

This wasn’t an isolated incident. Previously, an NDA workers’ conference held on September 21 in Darbhanga district was disrupted due to perceived neglect of JDU workers by former BJP district president Vinay Paswan. Before that, a conference in Jamui was also disrupted by a physical altercation between a minister and a former MLC.
