A property dispute involving the late actress Sridevi’s Chennai property has led producer Boney Kapoor to seek legal recourse. Kapoor has filed a petition in the Madras High Court, alleging that three individuals are illegally trying to claim ownership of the property. The petition accuses the three individuals of fraudulent activities. According to Kapoor, Sridevi acquired the property on April 19, 1988, from M.C. Sambanda Mudaliar. The family had a previous agreement regarding the property. However, three people have recently initiated claims on the property. One is a woman who claims to be the second wife of one of Mudaliar’s sons, and the other two are her sons. Kapoor disputes her claim, stating it is invalid because the son’s first wife died in 1999, well after her alleged marriage. Furthermore, the petition seeks the revocation of legal heir certificates granted to the three individuals. Justice N. Anand Venkatesh has instructed the Tambaram Taluk Tahsildar to reach a decision within four weeks. The property, which the family uses as a farmhouse, is situated on East Coast Road (ECR) in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
