Naiduniya News, Chandla. A newly married woman ended her life by hanging herself on Thursday in Ward 8 located on Chandla Sarrawai Marg. According to the information received, Preeti Sahu, a resident of Guda village of Lavkush Nagar police station area, was married about one and a half years ago on 26 January 2023 to Narendra son of Kamlesh Sahu, a native of Nehra, living in Ward 8 of Chandla. Preeti was pregnant.

On Thursday, she hanged herself outside her room in her own house. After Preeti’s death, her maternal family, who reached the spot, has accused her mother-in-law, father-in-law and husband of harassing the newly married woman. Giving information, Roshan Pandey, resident of Guda Khurd, Lovekush Nagar police station, a neighbour from her maternal side, said that Preeti had come to her maternal home after being upset with the domestic discord in her in-laws’ house, then her mother-in-law, grandmother, brother-in-law and other people from her in-laws’ house reached Guda village, at that time I myself had held a panchayat there, I had told these people that the girl is still pregnant.

The issue was related to delivery

You people can take her away after the delivery but these people did not listen at all, then we were forced to send the girl to her in-laws’ house. And when Preeti tried to call her parents, these people did not even let her call. Today Preeti hanged herself in her parental home due to harassment from her mother-in-law, father-in-law and husband.

The Chandla police was informed about the entire incident. After filling the Panchnama, the police reached the spot and took the body in their custody and took it to the Chandla mortuary where after the doctor conducts the postmortem, the body will be handed over to the relatives in the presence of the police. The police is investigating the entire case closely.
