    Raipur, December 21, 2024/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai today participated in a virtual meeting chaired by Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Nadda to review the progress of the ‘TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’. He detailed the work being done in Chhattisgarh for the screening, treatment, and diagnosis of TB patients under the campaign launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to make India TB-free by 2025. Present at the meeting were Chhattisgarh’s Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jayswal, Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Special Secretary Health Dr. Priyanka Shukla, and the Managing Director of the National Health Mission Shri Vijay Dayaram K.

    Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the ‘TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ is being implemented with full diligence in Chhattisgarh. Since the launch of the campaign on December 7th, more than 1,123,924 people have been screened. The Chief Minister informed that under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana, ₹1000 is being paid into the bank accounts of TB patients for nutritional support. To date, 10,447 Nikshay Mitra have registered to provide nutritional support to TB patients. In remote districts like Sukma, all 66 Community Health Officers are registered as Nikshay Mitra.

    Chief Minister Shri Sai explained that in the Tokapal region of Bastar, health workers are using songs and music in the local Halbi dialect to widely publicize the campaign. A total of 963 Nikshay camps have been organized under the campaign.

    The Chief Minister stated that as per Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s instructions, the campaign’s goals will be achieved within the stipulated time. Private sector participation is also being ensured to provide better facilities to TB patients. Under private and public participation, Malbao Diagnostics has provided 2 handheld X-ray machines and 2 TrueNat machines, which are being used in mobile units. This vehicle is being used as a Nikshay vehicle.
