In a remarkable turn of events for anti-Maoist operations in Chhattisgarh, 50 Naxal cadres, including 32 women, have surrendered in Kanker district. The surrender, involving prominent leaders such as Rajman Mandavi and Raju Salam, occurred at the Kamtera camp of the Border Security Force. A total of 39 weapons were also surrendered by the group. This significant act is expected to weaken the Maoist presence in the Maad region. The surrendered individuals included several high-ranking members. Security agencies anticipate this to be the first of several large-scale surrenders, with up to 120 more cadres anticipated to surrender in Bijapur by Thursday. Ongoing outreach programs are crucial in encouraging insurgents to reintegrate into society.
