Union Home Minister Amit Shah convened with officers in Delhi to acknowledge their roles in the recent successful anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh. He extended his congratulations on the historic achievements. Shah emphasized the Modi government’s commitment to eradicating Naxalism from the nation.

The operations were carried out by security forces in Chhattisgarh under the Union Home Minister’s guidance. One such operation, led by the Chhattisgarh Police and DRG units from various districts, took place in the Abujhmad area from May 18 to May 21. This was followed by an encounter on May 21 in the forests of Boter village, where 27 Naxals were neutralized, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basavaraju alias Gaganna, and a considerable amount of arms and ammunition was recovered.

Key officers involved were honored, including Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police Sundarraj, and Superintendents of Police Prabhat Kumar, Jitendra Yadav, and Shalabh Singh. The event was attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sharma, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka.
