In a significant stride against insurgency, Kanker district in Chhattisgarh has facilitated the surrender of 50 Naxal operatives, including 32 women. They presented 39 weapons to the Border Security Force at the Kamtera camp. This mass surrender, involving influential figures within the Maoist hierarchy, is expected to significantly disrupt their operations in the Maad region. Security agencies are actively engaging with communities to encourage further surrenders. The success in Kanker is anticipated to be followed by a larger surrender of around 120 cadres in the neighboring Bijapur district, marking a substantial gain for peace and security in the state. This development highlights the effectiveness of ongoing security strategies.
