Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai praised archer Navleen Kaur from Mahasamund district, who has qualified for the upcoming national games, and assured the government’s support for her. The Chief Minister highlighted the government’s dedication to promoting sports talent in the state.

Sai emphasized the state’s commitment to aiding athletes like Navleen and providing the resources needed for their development. He noted that Navleen has demonstrated remarkable resilience in overcoming health challenges and choosing a career in sports. Her recent gold medal victory at a state-level competition was a highlight.

Navleen Kaur, a resident of Bagbahara in Mahasamund, is the daughter of Arvind and Ranjit Kaur Chhabra. Born prematurely, she faced health issues from the start. She began archery training in 2018 at the Bihajhar Balashram.

She has achieved notable success, including becoming Mahasamund’s first female archer, securing medals in state-level competitions, and achieving fourth place nationally. In 2023, she represented Chhattisgarh at the FGFI National Archery Competition, placing second in the state-level senior event.

Navleen’s ambition is to represent India internationally and win medals. She has been provided with a new compound bow by her family. She recently won first place in the compound round girls’ category at the City Open Archery Competition. She is currently being trained by coach Awan Sahu and sports officer Manoj Dhrtalhare.
