Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai of Chhattisgarh has meticulously outlined the transformative impact of the PRAGATI portal in tackling major state issues, aligning with PM Modi’s vision for a Viksit Bharat. As India claims its position as the fourth-largest economy, this digital marvel ensures governance matches rhetoric with results.
In discussions with the press at Raipur’s New Circuit House, Sai portrayed PRAGATI not just as an infrastructure oversight mechanism but as a hallmark of modern India’s administrative ethos—prioritizing proactivity and punctuality.
He hailed Indian democracy’s worldwide acclaim, attributing it to robust Centre-state collaboration, which PRAGATI amplifies as a conduit for scheme execution. Beyond surveillance, it instills responsibility, boosts transparency, and reforms work practices.
The platform has invigorated 3,300 projects exceeding ₹85 lakh crore, enhancing 61 schemes like PM-JAY, PMAY, and Swachh Bharat. It has also robustified complaint resolution in 36 areas, from finance to welfare.
Chhattisgarh is leveraging it for 99 projects totaling ₹6.11 lakh crore, with 50 finished. Of 200 state issues on PRAGATI, 183 were settled at a stellar 91% rate. Breakdown: power (24), roads (23), rail (14), coal (7), steel (9).
Milestones like Bhilai’s modernization, Lara thermal plant, and Raipur-Kodebod four-laning—hindered by land and logistics—have been unlocked, fueling economic vitality and youth employment. PRAGATI exemplifies how digital bridges can accelerate national development.
