The educational system in Chhattisgarh is undergoing a transformation to make teacher training more accessible. Students seeking admission to four-year integrated courses such as BA-BEd and BSc-BEd will no longer face entrance exams. Admission will be based on their 12th-grade results.

The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has presented a proposal to the government, with the expectation that counseling will begin in August. This will save students a year and eliminate the need for entrance exams. Previously, the two-year B.Ed course was the conventional pathway for becoming a teacher, but it will be discontinued by 2024-25, as per the Ministry of Education. The focus will shift towards four-year integrated programs, which are part of the New Education Policy (NEP).

This new system will encompass admissions to 6700 seats across 300 colleges within the state. Merit lists will be drawn up based on 12th-grade scores, and colleges will be assigned through counseling.
