Raigarh police have arrested two individuals in connection with the gang rape of a tribal woman in the Kapu area of Chhattisgarh. The incident is another such reported crime after an earlier incident in Pusaur. The suspects are accused of using a weapon to threaten and abduct the married woman from her residence. The victim was held captive and subjected to repeated sexual assaults over a span of approximately one week. Based on the victim’s report, the police have arrested both of the suspects. The case is being investigated by the Kapu police station.

The incident occurred on July 21st. According to the complaint, Dhansay Ekka of Dhamnadand Kiriya and Kamalu Tigga of Bensbudi, threatened the woman with a weapon, forcibly removing her from her home. The accused then transported the woman to various locations including Lailunga and Reruma, where they are accused of repeatedly gang-raping her over a period of about a week.

After the attacks, the assailants released the woman. They also threatened her and her husband, cautioning them not to reveal the incident to anyone. A village meeting was held to discuss the seriousness of the matter, and it was decided that a police report should be filed. Initially, the victim was reluctant to file a report due to fear of the perpetrators.

However, on Saturday, she filed a complaint at the Kapu police station. ASP Akash Markam confirmed that a case of gang rape had been registered. The police have filed charges against the accused under the Arms Act and provisions of the BNS (Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita). Following the filing of the report, an investigation was conducted, which led to the arrest of both suspects.
