Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai chaired a high-level meeting to assess the progress and implementation of the Women and Child Development Department’s programs. Key directives were given to officials, focusing on the need for regular monitoring of women and child-centric initiatives at the district level. A detailed review of these programs will be conducted during the upcoming Collector’s Conference.

The Chief Minister reviewed the department’s infrastructure, budget, and ongoing schemes. He highlighted the department’s crucial role in providing nutrition and safety to children, adolescents, and women. He emphasized that the more attentive and skilled the care provided to young children, the more effective their physical and mental development will be.

He emphasized that children represent the future of the country and that everyone’s involvement is crucial to fortifying this foundation. Departmental staff were instructed to work proactively and with self-motivation at the ground level. He also stressed the importance of ensuring that every child in the state benefits from supplementary nutrition and departmental schemes.

The discussion included the distribution of nutritious food and hot meals in Anganwadi centers, including quantity, quality, and calorie standards. The need for continuous monitoring of the distribution process was also discussed. The Chief Minister inquired about the operation of 197 Anganwadi centers under the PM Janman Yojana and directed officials to focus on the holistic development of children from the Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) community.

During the review, the Chief Minister addressed child nutrition indicators, calling for concrete measures to achieve improvements. He emphasized that these indicators help assess the actual situation and enable swift corrective actions where deficiencies exist. He acknowledged the positive performance of the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and directed to maintain the progress. He also highlighted the importance of Anganwadi workers forming an emotional connection with children.

The Chief Minister advocated for regular training for departmental staff to improve their technical expertise and adopt a research-oriented approach. The meeting also encompassed discussions on the Bal Vivah Mukt Chhattisgarh Abhiyan, Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana, Sakhi One Stop Centre, Shakti Sadan, Women and Child Helpline, Mahila Kosh, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Mission Vatsalya, and other schemes.
