    The Chhattisgarh High Court’s silver jubilee celebration focused on the significance of accessible justice and the modernization of the legal system. Governor Rameen Deka stated that the success of the judicial system is seen when justice is easily accessible to every citizen, including those in rural areas, the poor, and the general public. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai highlighted the government’s commitment to delivering justice on time, along with appropriate infrastructure and resources. The event also featured the release of a commemorative souvenir. The silver jubilee celebrations commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony. The Governor, Chief Minister, and Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu were presented with gifts by the High Court judges. The event was also attended by Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, along with other important officials.

    Governor Deka expressed his honor at addressing the event, recalling the establishment of the High Court in 2000 with the formation of Chhattisgarh. He highlighted the High Court’s critical role as the protector of civil rights and the vigilant guardian of justice. He lauded the court’s effectiveness in expediting pending cases through Lok Adalat and emphasized the importance of reducing case backlogs to ensure timely justice. Chief Minister Sai congratulated everyone on the silver jubilee of the state and the High Court. He also paid his respects to Atal Bihari Vajpayee, whose vision led to the creation of Chhattisgarh. The Chief Minister reinforced the government’s commitment to delivering justice, with increased budgetary allocations for the Law and Legislative Department. He also noted the increasing interest of the youth in law-related careers. He referred to Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to modernize the legal system, including the introduction of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the inclusion of forensic science. Supreme Court Justice JK Maheshwari emphasized the significance of justice, dharma, and the need for future planning for the judiciary. Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu acknowledged the court’s role in upholding democracy and the constitution. Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha delivered the welcome address, highlighting the High Court’s achievements over the past 25 years. The event was attended by a host of dignitaries including judges, advocates, and government officials.
