The infrastructure of Chhattisgarh is set to receive a significant upgrade following a meeting between Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari. A number of vital road projects for the state were approved during the meeting. The Union Minister directed officials to quickly finalize the financial approvals for current projects in Chhattisgarh, with a value exceeding 7000 crore rupees. A further 600 crore rupees was sanctioned under the Central Road Fund (CRF). This funding will enable the construction and upgrading of numerous roads throughout Chhattisgarh. The agenda included the construction of four large bridges to ease traffic congestion in Raipur, with ground-breaking ceremonies planned soon. Roads linking Raipur with other districts will be widened from two to four lanes, improving both traffic and safety. The ‘Gati Shakti Portal’ of the central government will be used to speed up road project planning. Shri Gadkari has ordered the rapid preparation of a DPR for a six-lane road spanning approximately 95 km, between Raipur-Arang-Bilaspur-Darri, that will connect industrial, agricultural and educational areas. The Samriddhi Expressway will also be extended to Raipur.
